In regards to industry shifts, it has come to my buds attention that it seems a lot of commercial game companies and indies are now finding Gimp to be so great at what it does (and with some mods added IS essentially a completely free albeit slightly less advanced version of Photoshop) that they've not bothered with Photoshop and it's pesky subscription requirements anymore.

Recently, this mysterious friend- whose address and phone number have mysteriously slipped one's mind completely has gotten tired of all the trojans on his pc and decided to go fully legit by switching to Gimp, which he has found to be a marvellous and comprehensive piece of software. This person has been using pirated copies of Photoshop for decades now, probably like a lot of you naughty boys and girls have.
